For as long as I can remember, I have had a passion for helping others. I got started in fundraising after hearing a young woman with Cystic Fibrosis speak about what a day in her life looks like living with the disease. Her speech and living conditions day-to-day really moved me to want to help. I decided to take a leap into the world of ultramarathon running in hopes I could raise money to support those living with Cystic Fibrosis. After 3 events of ultra-running, we decided to shift to the world of Strongman events.
To date, we have raised approx. $175,000 by way of 7 events in the little town of beautiful Listowel, ON, Canada and distributed it amongst several local charities, such as Cystic Fibrosis Canada, The Listowel Memorial Hospital, and the Listowel Salvation Army Food Bank. The events have become such a local staple, that recently, we started our own Foundation called “The Chris Kurz Fund” to raise money to provide food to the healthy snack programs at area schools.
